Hi all.
Jeffrey here.
“At the Family Reunion” is this week’s puzzle title and it is pun time! Who doesn’t love relative puns.
20a [Some attendees at the Witherspoon family reunion?] – REESE’S NIECES who I’m sure were all eating Reese’s Pieces.
33a [Scandal at the family reunion?] – DAUGHTER-GATE, the reunion of course being held at the Watergate hotel.
42a [An attendee at the royal family reunion?] – GRANDMA QUEEN, who was being a drama queen because she didn’t get any Reese’s Pieces.
57a [Entry fee for some at the family reunion?] – A DIME A COUSIN, which is more expensive than a dime a dozen. Reese’s Pieces cost about 15 cents a dozen, based on my extensive research.

Canadian content:
1a [Ungrammatical NHL team name, for short] – Toronto Maple LEAFS.
15a [____ Québécois (Blanchet’s party)] – BLOC.
36a [Bruins great Phil, to fans] – ESPO. Phil Esposito is from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He was playing in the NHL when the LEAFS last won the Stanley Cup (1967).
3d [Harpoonist & the ___ Murderer (B.C. blues/rock duo)] – AXE. Ok, Barb, you’re making this one up. That can’t be the name of a real blues/rock duo. Oh wait, it is! Never mind.
5d [Newfoundland ____ (rum brand)] – SCREECH.
9d [Our country air?] – O CANADA.
63d [Product safety org.] – CSA. Canadian Standards Association.

Tip of the Week:
34d [Wake Me Up Before You ___”’] – GO-GO, cause I’m not planning on going solo. Although, if you don’t wake me up, aren’t you the one going solo?
See you next week!
